On Tuesday, October 18, 2005, the U.S. House of Representative voted unanimously to approve S. 156, the Ojito Wilderness Act of 2005. By approving the Senate-passed bill, the House ensured that the measure would head directly to President Bush’s desk. The President is expected to sign the bill in the next week or two.
Earlier this month, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation adding 31 miles of Cache Creek to the California Wild & Scenic Rivers System.
