  • Poll Shows Strong Support for Wilderness in Dona Ana County, NM

  • As citizens and lawmakers grapple with the issue of how best to manage federal public lands in Dona Ana County, New Mexico, a new poll shows strong and broad support for significant wilderness protection.
     
  • Wilderness Land Trust Successfully Transfers 2,605 Acres of Wilderness Inholdings to Public Ownership in 2004-2005

  • Since it was founded in 1992, The Wilderness Land Trust has preserved more than 200 inholdings in 41 designated and proposed Wilderness Areas. In 2004-05, the Trust purchased 2,461 acres and transferred 2,605 acres to public ownership, more than doubling their volume of work over the prior year.
