National Conservation Areas provide for the conservation, use, enjoyment, and enhancement of certain natural, recreational, paleontological, and other resources, including fish and wildlife habitat. The Bureau of Land Management administers 14 National Conservation Areas. The first -- King Range National Conservation Area, in California -- was established in 1970.
