Catherine has a BA from Santa Clara University and a MA and two teaching credentials from San Francisco State University. After three years of teaching, Catherine started to fundraise for environmental organizations. She has worked at Friends of the River, national Sierra Club, Trust for Public Land and Save the Redwoods League before joining TWS in 2007.
Gardening, hiking and international travel have supplanted river rafting as Catherine's preferred recreation. She's been on three private rafting trips through the Grand Canyon, boated many of the West's wild rivers, visited 52 countries to date including a trek to the Kingdom of Mustang. It's the high country of Yosemite that makes her heart sing.
