Cecilia Clavet joined The Wilderness Society in 2004 as a Policy Analyst for The Wilderness Society’s National Forest Program. Her work is focused on national forest appropriations and fire management.
She earned a Master’s in Science from the University of Maine in Ecology and Environmental Sciences focused on Resource Economics and Policy. She completed a thesis on the cost effectiveness of reducing MtBE in gasoline in Maine. Cecilia began her work on environmental issues in her undergraduate years at West Virginia University, where she earned a BS in fish and wildlife biology from the Davies School of Forestry.
During her time in West Virginia, Cecilia had the opportunity to work as a seasonal wilderness ranger for the USDA Forest Service in the Dolly Sods Wilderness on the Monongahela National Forest.
She enjoys animal rescue volunteering, hiking, backpacking, flora and fauna identification, travel and mountains.

Anne Merwin
Anne Merwin is a public lands policy advisor focusing on recreation and transportation planning issues. Prior to joining The Wilderness Society, she was the senior policy director for a regional watershed conservation group. Her past experience also includes several years in the private sector as an environmental planning consultant.
Anne holds a J.D. and Certificate in Environmental Law from the University of Maryland.
