Dan has been with The Wilderness Society’s California/Nevada Regional Office since August 2000. In that time, he has primarily worked to designate wilderness in California and Nevada and protect national forests from off-road vehicle abuse and oil and gas development.
Prior to joining TWS, he worked as a lobbyist and elections staff with Sierra Club in Washington, DC for four years and then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he lobbied the Utah state government for Sierra Club and served as Communications Director for The National BLM Wilderness Campaign. Dan has appeared on ABC World News and FOX National News as well as numerous other television, radio and print stories.
He has a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and is currently earning his MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
He is an avid hiker, telemark skier, mountain biker and hunter. Dan lives in Berkeley with his wife and son.

Sam Goldman
Sam has been with The Wilderness Society since Fall 2007. He came most recently from M+R Strategic Services in Washington, DC where he worked with national environmental groups to improve their online campaign work and field organizing capacity. Before that, Sam was the Assistant National Field Director for U.S. PIRG where he covered a variety of issues including the fight to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
