Before joining us in 2008, Laura worked as an editor, writer and reporter for a variety of print and online media, including the Fort Collins Coloradoan, The Army Times newspapers and The Military Times national news Web sites.
While earning her master’s degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from The American University in Washington, D.C., Laura spent time as a reporter for The Baltic Times newspaper in Tallinn, Estonia, and as a communications intern at the Freedom Forum in Washington, DC.
Laura is a Colorado native with a passion for travel and culture. In the 1990s, she served as a Peace Corps high school English teacher in Estonia. She has also spent stints traveling Eastern Europe and studying and teaching in her other favorite countries of Ireland and Ecuador.
