As Electronic Communications Manager, Ted tends to online strategy, social media and helping advocates and fundraisers at The Wilderness Society perform well in the world where online communications meets offline results.
Ted joined The Wilderness Society staff in mid-2006. Previously, he started and ran a consulting firm that focused on helping progressive organizations, advocacy and political campaigns around the country use online media and data. Ted has extensive experience in web and email development, design and strategy and worked for several years as a fundraiser and membership director for state and regional non-profit organizations.
Before starting his own firm in 2002, Ted was based in Chicago and served as the online director for the Environmental Law and Policy Center as well as development director at Citizens for a Better Environenment. He has also been associate executive director of the Colorado Environmental Coalition and worked on several political campaigns.
A native Coloradoan, Ted grew up in Denver and Greeley and is now back in Denver. He holds a Masters of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and degrees in History and Political Science from Northwestern University. However many days he skis each year is not nearly enough but he is thankful to live in the high and sunny climes of Colorado.

Wendy Loya, Ph.D.
Dr. Wendy Loya joined The Wilderness Society in 2006 as our Alaska Region Ecologist. Her work focuses primarily on climate change and northern ecosystems. An overarching objective of her work is understanding how the cumulative impacts of climate change and industrial development can be quantified to achieve a better understanding of future ecosystem health and potential mitigation solutions.
