With more than 250 million acres at stake, we have an opportunity to help shape the future of public lands in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The plans being developed determine the uses and protection for our public lands. Through the land use planning process, the BLM develops plans for how an area’s resources are managed called Resource Management Plans. These plans include conservation efforts, energy development, hiking, biking, motorized vehicle use and other uses. Each plan involves a public participation process and the opportunity to comment on plans across the West.
