Rules for the 'Go Outside and Play!' Photo Contest

Eligibility: The contest is open to all participants age 18 and older. Wilderness Society employees, Council Members, and their relatives are not eligible to win.

Participation and submission rules:

• Photo submissions will appear on The Wilderness Society’s Facebook account and wilderness.org and will be subject to judging from our Facebook and other social media followers.
• Submissions must be uploaded to The Wilderness Society Facebook timeline by midnight, May 20, Pacific Standard Time.

Judging: The Wilderness Society will select up to ten photo finalists by May 29. On May 29, Wilderness Society Facebook followers and other social media followers will be invited to vote from among those finalists. The photo with the most 'likes' from Facebook fans will win. Shares and comments will not be tallied towards winning votes. Facebook voting will be closed at midnight, Pacific Standard Time, June 3.

Notification of winner: One winning photo and nine finalists will be announced on wilderness.org and Facebook during the first week of June and the entrant will be notified through the Facebook account with which they submitted the photo. 

Prizes: The winner of the ‘Go Outside and Play’ Photo Contest will receive an ATO Records John Denver tribute CD and their photo will appear on wilderness.org. Note that upon notification of winning, the entrant will be asked to provide their mailing address for prize delivery. The prize is awarded 'as is' with no warranty. Another nine finalists will have their photos appear on wilderness.org. 

Photo rights and consent of subjects:

• You retain ownership and full rights to all images submitted but grant us the right to use your images in support of The Wilderness Society's mission.
• In order to enter a photo in the contest, entrants must obtain permission from each identifiable individual in all submitted photos. By submitting photos, the entrant acknowledges and agrees that The Wilderness Society may publish and distribute his/her photos in support of our work. As a condition of the contest, entrants submissions must be original to the entrant. They must be legally obtained and may not infringe on intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party individual, company or organization. Entrants wave all rights to receive compensation for further publication or use of photos.

General release
Entrants agree to release The Wilderness Society against all claims and damages arising in connection with any photo submission, including costs, injuries, or damages relating to privacy.
