Conventional wisdom says putting ranchers, hunters and conservationists together in the same room is a recipe for disaster. Maybe that’s true in some cases, but the Rocky Mountain Front is a powerful force that brings people together.

Since coming together to establish the first wildlife preserve in the Rocky Mountain Front in 1913, people with various interests have found a common purpose in protecting the important wildland.

Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front

At Wilderness, we helped found the Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front a decade ago to strengthen and unify the voices of local ranchers and outfitters who care deeply about their backyard. 

The coalition continues to grow and attract supporters. Today, it is helping pass historic legislation to protect this pristine place.
