The Clearwater Basin is a diverse and important wildland in Idaho that is in great need of help. A history of road building and logging in Clearwater Basin wildlands has degraded native fisheries and wildlife habitat.

A wildlife hub

Because it is such a rugged wildland, the Clearwater Basin provides habitat for rare species including wolverine and native trout, as well as many other animal and plant species.

Unsurpassed wilderness

If permanently protected as wilderness, the upper Clearwater Basin could preserve landscape connections that would allow species to safely travel between Central Idaho and western Montana. This area could protect some of the largest, best-connected wild lands in the Northern Rockies.
