Spanning more than 800,000 acres, the White Mountain National Forest has some of the most rugged mountains in New England. It’s home to the Presidential Mountain Range and 6,288-foot Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast.
The White Mountain National Forest is also one of the best places to go camping in all of New England. It is an important source of clean water for many communities.
