Colorado’s Dolores River Basin is home to gorgeous wild lands and thriving wildlife. But it’s also home to oil and gas drilling.
The Wilderness Society is working to protect the wildest and most important places in the Dolores River Basin. We’re working alongside the Bureau of Land Management to ensure that oil and gas drilling doesn’t take place on sensitive wildlands.
San Juan Mountains
Some areas in the Dolores River Basin are so wild that they should be permanently protected as wilderness areas. We’re working to have some places in the San Juan Mountains preserved forever.
Energy
We’re working with the Bureau of Land Management to keep oil and gas drilling away from some of the most sensitive wildlands. By working collaboratively with them, we can make sure that oil and gas drilling happens in places that are less disruptive.
