Hansjӧrg Wyss has served on The Wilderness Society governing council since 1993. He is currently a member at large of the council.

Hansjӧrg is chairman of Synthes, Inc. as well as co-founder and trustee of AO/ASIF Foundation in Chur, Switzerland. 

He is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Business in Massachusetts and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Besides his business interests, Hansjӧrg is involved in a number of environmental activities. He presently serves as chairman of the Wyss Foundation and is a member of the board of directors of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and the Grand Canyon Trust.
