Richard Blum has served on The Wilderness Society governing council since 1994.
Richard is chairman and president of Richard C. Blum & Associates, Inc., the general partner of Blum Capital Partners, L.P., a long-term strategic equity investment management firm which acts as general partner for various investment partnerships and provides investment advisory services.
Richard serves on the board of directors of several companies, including CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. and Glenborough Realty Trust, Inc. He is also co-chairman of Newbridge Capital, LLC, an investment management firm that invests in Asia and Latin America.
Richard has BA and MBA degrees from the University of California Berkeley.
Mr. Blum also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Regents of the University of California and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Business School at that University.
Richard is the founder and chairman of the American Himalayan Foundation and is Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Nepal and Mongolia.
In addition, Richard serves on the board of trustees of the following non-profits: The American Cancer Foundation, The Brookings Institution, The Carter Center, Glide Foundation, The Wilderness Society, The World Conference of Religions for Peace and The World Wildlife Fund.
