Scott Nathan has served on The Wilderness Society governing council since 2003.

Scott is the chief risk officer of The Baupost Group, an absolute return, value-oriented investment partnership in Boston with over $20 billion under management.  He chairs Baupost’s portfolio risk committee and is a member of the firm’s management committee. 

Scott is chair of the board of the League of Conservation Voters. 

Scott is a graduate of Harvard College and was the Lionel de Jersey Harvard Scholar at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University in England.  He received a JD and an MBA, both from Harvard University. 

Scott lives in Boston with his wife and two children.
