A "conservationist that fundraises," he is a 20-year veteran of continental scale conservation campaigns. Allen joined TWS in the summer of 2012 after a 19-year career with The Nature Conservancy, serving in Louisiana, Idaho and Montana, where he focused on programming to protect and restore bottomland hardwood forests in the Mississippi River alluvial plain, securing winter range and wildlife connectivity in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and ultimately developing major individual funding to support core area land protection in the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem. Allen is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana. When not working, he spends his time with his wife and three daughters exploring the mountains, rivers, grasslands and soccer fields of the Northern Rockies.
