Anastasia Greene came to The Wilderness Society as a Communications Intern in the fall of 2014. After six months of wrangling clips and working across the energy, lands and people outdoors campaigns, she joined the team full-time in March 2015 as the Communications Associate for the energy campaign. She has a BA in Communications and Spanish and an MBA with a focus in Public Relations. In undergrad she studied abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico and has a passion for Latino culture.
Anastasia has played soccer since the tender age of 8 and continues to play in leagues to this day. When she isn’t on the soccer field, you can catch her biking around town, hiking out in the Catoctin’s or floating down the Shenandoah / Potomac in Harpers Ferry (and/or fording it with her oxen Oregon Trail style). She is a Philadelphia native, who grew up in Stafford, Virginia – and spent a lot of time floating down the Rappahanock River. When she isn’t being active she enjoys traveling all around the US and is in the midst of a national park tour. Anastasia fell in love with the wild outdoors in the Girl Scouts and continues to embrace her explorer spirit to this day.
