As Associate Specialist for the Los Angeles Office since the summer of 2011, George is working with Daniel Rossman to develop the Leadership Academy for the San Gabriel Mountains Forever Campaign. He also assists with organizing and communication on the campaign.

He is also completing his master's degree in Chicana and Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge, where he has taught public speaking, an introduction to Chicana and Chicano Studies and CSUN's 2011 Upward Bound Program. Before coming to work for The Wilderness Society, George worked as a reporter for numerous award-winning magazines, newspapers and websites, as well as a documentary.

He grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, so the San Gabriel Mountains Forever Campaign is close to his heart and consciousness. To be able to work towards the creation of an urban national recreation area in his home is beyond anything he ever imagined doing.
