As an Associate Director, Jeff Widen provides strategic support to campaigns focused on wilderness and conservation designations for BLM lands, particularly in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Jeff came to The Wilderness Society from the Colorado Environmental Coalition, where he served for nearly a decade as the Public Lands Campaign Director.  He led campaigns that resulted in designation of the Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness and National Conservation Area, among other spectacular Colorado landscapes. Jeff began his conservation career with the Sierra Club working on the California Desert Protection Act.

Jeff received his B.A. in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University.
