Mason joined the Wilderness Society as a digital content producer in July of 2014 after working over three years as a communications specialist at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. During that time, he managed digital content, produced multimedia pieces, and contributed to a robust image library.
Prior to his work in digital communications, Mason became involved with the National Park Service through a trail crew internship at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. From there, he went on to be a science communications intern for the San Francisco Bay Area Network of national parks before joining the Parks Conservancy’s communications team.
On his free time, Mason is an avid wilderness photographer. He strives to help others connect with the natural world through his images, with the ultimate goal of inspiring exploration and conservation of wildlands.
Mason received his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Anthropology from Colorado State University. He now lives permanently in Colorado, where he enjoys exploring and photographing the Rocky Mountain backcountry.
