Meredith Gower
Meredith joined The Wilderness Society in January 2006 and currently focuses her time working with donors in the Southeast to “keep it wild” in the Southern Appalachians and other special landscapes across the United States. During her tenure in the Development Department, she has served in various capacities, providing extensive writing and editing support to the major gifts team and co-managing The Wilderness Society’s President’s Council.
Before arriving at The Wilderness Society, Meredith earned a B.A. in English from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and worked for Upstate Forever, a land trust in her native state of South Carolina.
Away from work and as often as she is able, Meredith enjoys escaping to her family’s farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She is an avid seeker of wild landscapes both near and far – preferring to bring along a fly rod, a tent, and her English Cocker Spaniel whenever possible.
