Neil Shader works in our Communications Department in the Washington, D.C. office. He works on press outreach and media strategy on issues including oil and gas drilling, conservation funding and protecting wild lands in New England.
Prior to joining The Wilderness Society in 2010, Neil served as the Communications Specialist for the Ducks Unlimited Governmental Affairs Office in Washington D.C. There he increased awareness of the need for public policy solutions for waterfowl habitat within the organization’s membership.
Neil attended Ohio University for his undergraduate degree in Politics and Media, and received a Master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. During his studies, he spent several months interning in the Welsh National Assembly in Cardiff Wales.
Outside the office walls, Neil likes to hike and fly-fish, and is currently working his way through visiting all of the National Parks, one exquisite public land at a time.
