Ryan Bidwell works to defend the Antiquities Act and advocate for the designation of National Monuments to permanently protect outstanding natural, cultural, and historic resources on public lands. He works closely with grassroots partners to identify opportunities for resource protection and develop strategies for advancing local campaigns.

Prior to joining The Wilderness Society, Ryan worked as the Executive Director of Colorado Wild, a grassroots forest conservation organization and Wilderness Society partner. Ryan worked to advance a proactive vision for conserving forests in the Southern Rockies through a variety of strategies ranging from grassroots organizing to policy advocacy.

Ryan received a M.S. in Natural Resource Policy from the College of Forest Resources at the University of Washington, and a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from Oregon State University.
