Ski resorts spend a lot of effort and money each season getting ready for the inevitable. The skiing industry has been seeing and feeling the effects of global climate change for some time, forcing resorts to plan for the unknown every winter.

There's no question that the benefits that wilderness offers are plentiful, from the health and wellbeing of our families to that of our communities and economies.

Hearing that Shell is drilling in the Arctic Ocean just 12 miles from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one thing, but seeing it is another. To observe a drilling rig so close to the Coastal Plain of the refuge – vital habitat for caribou and polar bears – is chilling.
