Patagonia supports The Wilderness Society’s We Are The Wild campaign
This year, Patagonia became a supporter of The Wilderness Society’s new We Are The Wild campaign, a campaign to collect personal wilderness stories, and inspire Americans to experience and protect the wild places we all love. Patagonia’s support made possible the development of the We Are The Wild digital hub at wilderness.org/wearethewild where people from across the country are answering the question: “Where is your wild?” Patagonia’s commitment to being environmentally and socially conscious runs deep (you can read more about all that they do in their impressive 2014 Environmental and Social Initiatives Booklet). Keen throws a killer happy hour benefiting The Wilderness Society
At the Outdoor Retailer show, Keen threw down every night at their booth with beer for the masses. The only cost to OR guests was a $5 Klean Kanteen steel pint. 100% of the proceeds of the sale of the cups benefitted The Wilderness Society. We can’t thank you enough, Keen, for your generosity. We had a lot of fun, too!
Happy 25th birthday to the Conservation Alliance
This year marks the Conservation Alliance’s 25th Birthday. It was an honor to celebrate with them at their birthday party at the Outdoor Retailer show. For 25 years, they have been working to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values. The Conservation Alliance has supported The Wilderness Society’s work to protect wilderness since 2007. This support has helped protect wild landscapes including Southwest Colorado’s San Juan Mountains and Hermosa Creek watershed, and the Clearwater Basin in central Idaho.
Support from the outdoor retail industry plays an integral role in funding our work to protect America’s wildlands. The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market’s generosity in allowing non-profits free admission made it possible for us to have a full team present and to connect with other nonprofit partners. Thanks across the board!
