April 30, 2012 - Recently, Warren Buffet, often referred to as the “Oracle of Omaha” for his legendary investment strategies, offered a recipe for success in an annual report published by Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Buffet named three “key ingredients” for companies to remain profitable and competitive in the 21st century: invest in “people, communities and the environment,” advising that “taking shortcuts is not the pathway to achieving sustainable competitive advantage, nor is it an avenue toward satisfying customers.”  more

April 27, 2012 - The latest round of oil industry quarterly profits is trickling in.  Once again, the oil industry is posting multi-billion profits – much of thanks to the high price that consumers are paying at the gas pump.  Shell oil saw an 11% jump in profits over this time last year, raking in $7.7 billion in just three months. more
