With a 500-plus page draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) out pertaining to U.S. Forest Service roadless areas in Colorado, three options are up for consideration. Anyone seeking to participate now has less than a week to get his or her two cents worth in.
However, the council voted 4-0 (with Council members Eric Johnson, Debra Hynes and Mayor Pat Willits absent) to vote for the resolution that follows in support of such groups as the Wilderness Society, Colorado Wild, the Pew Environmental Group and the Western Colorado Congress.
