Deerfield Wind Project DEIS Comments
December 1, 2008
Comments were submitted in response to Deerfield Wind, the first wind energy facility proposed on national forest system lands in the country.
This project, based in the Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont, raises significant issues including:
- NEPA violations
- impacts to black bears and bats
- violation of the NHPA
- project development in an area long proposed for Wilderness designation (Lamb Brook)
- violation of a court injunction limiting activity in Lamb Brook
