Eastern Sierra and Northern San Gabriel Wild Heritage Act – California (H.R. 6156/S. 3069)
October 31, 2008
This legislation would permanently protect more than 470,000 acres of Wilderness from the glacial valleys and alpine lakes of the High Sierra to the breathtaking White Mountains, home to California’s oldest trees, the bristlecone pine. The bill would also protect 52 miles of Wild and Scenic Rivers, including the stunning desert oasis of the Amargosa River.
