A new poll conducted for TheCLEAN.org and the Civil Society Institute (CSI) found strong majorities of Colorado residents want to see a big shift away from fossil fuels solutions to our energy challenges. Sixty-two percent said they want the new president to promote green energy, while 86 percent said they want limits on oil-shale subsidies and 76 percent want a moratorium on new coal-fired power plants. “The poll shows that people in this country see fossil fuels as a thing of the past, and that clean energy is the wave of the future,” TWS Energy Policy Advisor Chase Huntley says.

The election, energy, and what else?

Not sure eggactly were this should be. As well here as elsewhere I suppose. The global warming/ energy economy matrix is an important part of our continued exsistence as people and societies.
The election will hopefully allow real efforts and effective progress here. Geothermal powered prime movers are my current favorite long term solution.
The whole election, all two years of it, ended with a major battle lost by the monsters, P Krugmans term for the power structure of the last 8-12 years. The war, as such, against them is by no means over. Some of them retain seats of power in government and in the media, especially in the media.
I've been disturbed and confused by the media since Limbough staggered into to the scene. I finally studied what was written about it. This eventually lead me to Media Matters where I've been reading and posting for about one and a half years. Its a way to engage in an important debate. The degredation of our national media is an amazing thing to percieve. Its hard for many to see the truth of a situation when the mechanism of public information is bent. As most netroots sites also offer their readers a change to weigh in on things political and otherwise. Their effects on the election are debatable, but it has had some good effect.
This election opens up ways to do good things for our planet's ecology that will endure and enhance it and ourselves. Much else good could happen, but without a heathy ecosystem none of it will.
