Andrea joined The Wilderness Society in 2023 and is our Mojave Desert Community Conservation Specialist.
Andrea was born and raised in Victorville, California. Being surrounded by the Mojave Desert, she grew an interest in wildlife and the desert landscape.
She pursued this interest at the University of California Santa Cruz and received a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Andrea grew a particular fondness for birds and has done environmental education and community outreach for organizations like the San Francisco Bird Observatory, Red Rock Audubon, and the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. In her previous work, Andrea also worked to increase accessibility and equitability in a variety of environmental education programs.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys going to nearby green spaces to pursue nature journaling, photography, and birding.
