Statement from William H. Meadows on the retirement of Chris Brown, USFS Director of Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers

Jan 14, 2011

“Chris Brown was a strong defender of wilderness during his tenure as Director of Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers at the U.S. Forest Service, and has always been a steady advocate for our shared public lands and waters. For over 30 years, he has been a steward of our natural treasures that support communities. He will be sorely missed.

The Wilderness Society looks forward to working with Chris’s successor to ensure that our great-grandchildren have the opportunity to enjoy their natural legacy.”
