Flying squirrel's friends come out in force

The West Virginia Northern Flying Squirrel was pulled from the endangered species list last August, and some folks say it was done in error by the Bush Administration.

The little glider, called the “poster critter of the state’s mountaintop forests,” had a notice of intent to sue filed today on its behalf against the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service....

It’s nice the species has so many friends. Those less cuddly and cute, including snakes, insects and the like, are more hard-pressed when it comes to finding supporters.
