Gibson: ‘I support our antiquities.’

U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, R-Kinderhook, planned to vote against an amendment that would prohibit the use of federal funds to designate a national monument under the ‘Antiquities Act of 1906’, unless those monument designations were otherwise approved by Congress, Stephanie Valle, the congressman’s spokeswoman, said Wednesday.

The Wilderness Society, an advocacy organization, had been urging him to vote against it.
