Hunters spent $10 million during Rocky Mountain Front trips, agency says

Excerpts:

Hunters didn't let tough times deter them from seeking prize game - and spending money - along the Rocky Mountain Front last year.

Data collected by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks shows hunters spent more than $10 million during their trips to the Rocky Mountain Front in 2010, up almost $700,000 from 2008.

Those numbers highlight just how deserving the vast space is of a more unified protection and conservation effort, panel members on a Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front conference call said Tuesday.

…Panel members on Tuesday's call agreed the positive economic impact hunting continually brings to communities along the Rocky Mountain Front is just one more sign of how crucial wild places like the Front are.
