Our View: A success in 2009-10, and a big setback

After nearly a decade’s work, 2010 looked like it could be the year for Rep. Mike Simpson’s Boulder-White Clouds wilderness bill. Having secured impressive, consensus support at home, the 2nd District Republican also had bipartisan backing on Capitol Hill. All four members of the delegation were on board, and on April 30, Idaho Republican Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch introduced the bill in the Senate.
