This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is between the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security, Interior and Agriculture regarding cooperative National Security and Counterterrorism Efforts on Federal Lands along the United States’ borders. A MOU is often used to define a relationship within governmental departments or agencies. This MOU addresses the document’s purpose and scope, background, common findings from all departments and responsibilities and terms of agreement. Signed in 2006, this document helps agencies to better understand wilderness management along the U.S. borders.
