The Wilderness Act of 1964 protects our nation’s most cherished natural treasures. Our wild areas offer Americans a quiet place to experience nature, economic benefits for surrounding communities, and a variety of recreation opportunities such as hunting, fishing, camping, boating and hiking. Wilderness: America’s Natural Heritage is a useful hand-out that promotes Wilderness while advocating for an Omnibus Public Lands Bill during the 111th Congress.
