The Wilderness Society is part of a coalition of community, conservation and business groups working to pass Senator Dianne Feinstein’s California Desert Protection Act.
WASHINGTON, DC – Regional officials and supporters applauded Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) for reintroducing a bill that would upgrade Pinnacles National Monument to a National Park.
The Senator’s legislation – co-sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) – will further protect Pinnacles’ unique lands and its new National Park status would boost tourism to the area.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wilderness Society praised Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) for reintroducing legislation today that would preserve the unparalleled heritage of the California desert by creating two new National Monuments and expanding Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks and the Mojave National Preserve. The bill would also establish new wilderness areas in Death Valley National Park and on lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the US Forest Service.
