On Sunday, July 20, I had the pleasure of taking part in a small community gathering in Darrington, Washington, celebrating closure on an issue near and dear to the hearts of many: the protection of the historic Green Mountain Lookout.
The bill, passed in the Senate and House on April 3 and 7, respectively, blocks the court-ordered removal of the beloved landmark in Washington’s Glacier Peak Wilderness.
(UPDATE: President Obama signed this into law on April 15, 2014, ensuring that Green Mountain Lookout would be saved)
