The Obama administration confirmed that we will see new policies and practices from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the coming months as well as continuing efforts from the Department of Interior (DOI) aimed at reducing methane emissions from public lands.
In December, Congress passed a spending bill that funded most of our federal government for the next fiscal year. Unfortunately the bill included a dangerous addition that could undermine long fought-for plans to conserve greater sage-grouse habitat across 11 western states.
This plan will result in new wilderness areas, river and wildlife protections in many sensitive areas of the county, and land exchanges to remove school trust lands from areas highlighted for conservation.
