The Wilderness Society responds to Chairman Manchin saying he will not advance key Interior nominee

News media today is reporting that Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chair Joe Manchin will not be moving forward the nomination of Laura Daniel-Davis as assistant secretary of the Department of Interior.

The Wilderness Society has strongly advocated that the Senate approve President Biden's nomination of Ms. Daniel-Davis to this post. 

The following statement is from Jamie Williams, President of The Wilderness Society:

“Laura Daniel-Davis is imminently qualified for this role and deserved a fair process. She is a dedicated public servant who sat through not one but two confirmation hearings.  We regret that her exceptional bona fides were not enough to shield her from the politics that seem to have infected the process.”
