Don't miss the 8th annual Amazing Earthfest, held from May 11-17 in Kanab, Utah

Southwest Utah and northern Arizona have some of America’s most amazing wild lands, including Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks as well as Grand Staircase-Escalante and Vermilion Cliffs National Monuments. The beautiful places on the Colorado Plateau are certainly cause to celebrate, which is why National Geographic has named Amazing Earthfest as one of the ten best spring trips for 2014.

Every year, Amazing Earthfest hosts numerous wilderness lovers at a free festival in Kanab, Utah. The 8th annual Amazing Earthfest will be held from May 11-17, 2014.

There will be a plethora of events like concerts, potlucks, films, art exhibitions and outdoor activities like archaeological hikes, horseback rides and stargazing programs. There will also be workshops and lectures on a variety of scientific topics such as ecology, geology and paleontology. This year’s theme will honor the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, which we are celebrating all year long.

The festival aims to showcase the many spectacular wild lands on the Colorado Plateau:

  • Grand Canyon National Park
  • Bryce Canyon National Park
  • Zion National Park
  • Glen Canyon National Recreation Area
  • Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
  • Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument
  • Cedar Breaks National Monument
  • Pipe Spring National Monument
  • Vermilion Cliffs National Monument
  • Kaibab National Forest
  • Dixie National Forest

The Wilderness Society supports Amazing Earthfest because it offers incredible opportunities to connect with America’s wild landscapes and to learn about how we can all be stewards of them.
