Few trails in America are as iconic as California's John Muir Trail.

Now it's the scene of The Muir Project, a documentary that follows a group of digital artists on their bliss-filled journey along the trail.

The artists took up the challenge of hiking the trail's 219 miles in 25 days in July, 2011, filming it all along the way.

The video trailer for "Mile...Mile and a Half: A Journey Along the John Muir Trail" is sure to make you smile ...and to want to get out there on your favorite trail  - if not the John Muir trail itself.

The film grew out of the desire to motivate others to go after their adventures. - John Muir Project.

To finish the production of the full-length feature film, the group has raised funds with a Kickstarter campaign, which ended in fall 2012. Sign up for updates

The John Muir trail connects a handful of amazing National Parks - Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia - and winds through the breathtaking Ansel Adams Wilderness, concluding at Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the continental U.S. The John Muir Trail also stretches through the Sierra and Inyo National Forests.

The Wilderness Society works to keep this area healthy and protected. Support our work in national forests so that journeys like the John Muir Trail can continue to be a valuable part of the American experience.
