Statement from Jamie Williams on the State of the Union Address

Jan 28, 2014

“It's exciting to hear President Obama commit tonight to protecting America's natural and cultural treasures.  The Antiquities Act has a long history with presidents of both parties who have used it to enhance our nation's system of wild public lands. Areas like New Mexico's Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks have support from small business owners, conservationists, and sportsmen to be permanently protected. Now President Obama is ready to use executive authority to protect these special places as well.  We look forward to working with him to build on this American legacy by protecting the wild places that tell our diverse stories as a nation."
