VIRGINIA CONGRESSMAN EARNS OUTDOORS HONORS
Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman (R, VA-1) has been named of America’s Great Outdoors Congressional Champions by the Wilderness Society and the Sierra Club.
He was honored during Great Outdoors America Week in Washington.
Wittman has served in the state’s 1st District since 2007 and is a member of the House Committee on Natural Resources, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Task Force and the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission.
“I am committed to the principle that our country’s environment should be safeguarded for future generations,” said Wittman, whose office is decorated with fish and game mounts from his many outdoors experiences. “As a hunter and angler, it is critical that we protect America’s public lands.”
