Signaling Support for Wild Lands Policy in the Media

In late December Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Secretarial Order 3310, which requires the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to consider the protection of lands with wilderness characteristics under a new protective category called ‘Wild Lands’. Since the announcement, many Western voices have spoken out in support of this management decision.

You can listen to a February 2011 tele-press conference where a range of Western stakeholders talked about why this Wild Lands policy is important to their local economies and communities.
