On Sunday, July 20, I had the pleasure of taking part in a small community gathering in Darrington, Washington, celebrating closure on an issue near and dear to the hearts of many: the protection of the historic Green Mountain Lookout.
(UPDATE: President Obama signed this into law on April 15, 2014, ensuring that Green Mountain Lookout would be saved)

Lucky for Green Mountain Lookout supporters, the Green Mountain Lookout Heritage Protection Act is on the list.
The hearing is the first step the Alpine Lakes bill must take in order to be heard and voted on by the entire House of Representatives.
